Reviews
We cannot recommend Cork and Gabel enough for your wedding! We had our ceremony & wedding reception at Cork and Gabel in April. Everything was beyond perfect! From the food, to the planning, to the drinks and atmosphere, it was exactly what we wanted for our Detroit wedding. Matt, owner and chef, worked with us to create an amazing and tasty menu for our guests, drinks were delicious, and the wait staff & bartenders went above and beyond. Our experience at Cork and Gabel was absolutely perfect, and our guests couldn't stop talking about how much they enjoyed the night!
Came here for dinner. I got the shrimp alfredo. The food was pretty bland and unseasoned.. I wasn’t even able to eat for another 10 minutes after receiving my food because my silverware was dirty. I got THREE different sets of dirty silverware. I don’t blame the waitress, whoever rolled those silverware needs to be more attentive. I ended up asking for plastic ware that ended up being way too cheap and flimsy to eat that heavy pasta with. The worst part is that I was so excited to try this place. Then for the price!! Absolutely not. Never coming back.
I couldn't recommend Cork & Gabel enough for anyone looking for a venue to host a wedding/larger party! The restaurant has a ton of character, great mix of indoor and outdoor space with city views & the prettiest warm glow from it's lighting at night. The food was outstanding (as always!) & we were able to choose custom food & drink options which was extra special. Our guests can't stop raving about the amazing cocktails and the attentive bar staff giving drink recommendations & truly making whatever guests wanted. The owner, Matt, was incredible to work with and quickly answered all our questions, shared recommendations based on the space and went above & beyond to ensure our reception felt true to us and went off without a hitch. Thank you so much Matt & the Cork & Gabel team for such an awesome experience!!
My husband and I ordered the chicken marsala and the shrimp Alfredo. The meals were OUTSTANDING!! I’m from Brazil, recently moved to Michigan and this is one of my favorite meals so far! My aperol spritz was great too! We’ll be back! Christina was an amazing server!
I wish they had dairy-free desserts!
First time here.
The food was delicious and deserves a 5-star.
I ordered shrimp and lobster and my husband got schnitzel. Both were good but …
No bad decisions. Biscuits and gravy that we fought over, ranchero bowl was amazing as were our Bennie’s. The staff was kind, helpful, efficient and attentive. The building is so cool, not a single bad thing to say.
Stopped for just a Bloody Mary before walking around Rosevelt Park to see the train station. They offer to go pouches for beverages too. Bartenders were really friendly.
First time here after hearing high reviews. It really missed all marks... It wasn't busy at all and our waiter took forever to take our order. I had to flag a different waiter down to bring us our drinks after I saw them sitting on the at the bar for ~15min. The food was very mediocre. Neither of our chicken dishes were well seasoned. The cherry on top was the bathroom. For the price we payed, I expect it to be a tier above fast food restaurant but if you look at the picture, it's absolutely gross.
